When your dedicated hard drive clone bay – genuine £13 bargain causes dedicated Windows only software to crash when 99% complete…. Following exhaustive tests it turns out its the bays implementation of usb to IDE / Sata chip at fault and a £6 IDE / Sata to usb lead not only allows the software to write to the drive it completes with no issues? Probably does need a power brick though as a jury rigged AT PSU with a physical power switch cut into its shell looks scary – safe but still 🙂
Feeling a little too Geek and surely need to throw out some leads! BUT q.e.d.
p.s. see there are still uses for Dremel rotary cutters and AT psu’s
